After more than two years of interim governance, Lebanon now has a government.
He was trained by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, who assured that his government made up of 24 ministers would strive to “Restore confidence between citizens and the State, between Lebanon and its Arab neighbors, and between Lebanon and the international community.”
Nawaf Salam said the priority would be to reform the country which is faced with a serious economic crisis, and which must supervise the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah.
After the election of President Joseph Aoun on January 9 and the appointment of Nawaf Salam as Prime Minister in the process, the formation of the new government is one more step towards the complicated and hoped for recovery of the country.
The Lebanese presidency said that the Council of Ministers had been summoned for its first session on Tuesday, February 11 at 11 am at the Baabda Palace. He will be preceded by a photo of the new government.
