The case of Mounir Nasrawi, the father of Barcelona’s Spanish football team, took an unexpected turn after he turned from a victim to a suspect.
Nasrawi was stabbed with a knife during a fight in Matara in August 2024, after which he was transferred to the hospital and his condition settled.
A year later, and in the context of the investigation conducted by the 3rd investigation court in Matara, the Barcelona player’s father turned from a victim to a suspect. The judge charged him with physical abuse of his assault on the young man who stabbed him on the afternoon of August 14, 2024, in the Roccavonda neighborhood of Mattaru (Barcelona).
The reasons for the accident
The incident occurred around eight o’clock in the evening parking on Rafael Astrani road, where Nasrawi and a group of his friends met with a number of young people to “solve” a conflict that arose on that same day, when the son of the accused and his nephew, a two -year -old boy, sprayed the father of Jamal with water from the balcony.
After the incident, the local police officers were forced to calm Nasrawi, who said a good lawyer would resolve the case or “we will solve it later.”

Within moments of escalating the situation, a violent fight broke out, and the father of Jamal Jamal broke the young barrier to the young man with a blow. Minutes later, the accused drew a knife from a friend of Nasrawi and stabbed Jamal’s father twice: one in the chest and another in the loin.
As a result of the stabbing, the Barcelona player’s father was quickly transferred to the “Kan Roti” hospital in Badalona, where he underwent surgery.

From a victim to a suspect
Although all the attention was on Nasrawi, the young man who stabbed him was also injured, but with less serious injury.
According to the appeal seen by the Cronica Global newspaper, a friend of Munir (witnessed at the police station) acknowledged that Nasrawi “began with the young man” who finally stabbed him.
In his testimony before the court, Adria C.S. One of Nasrawi’s friends took out a knife, and he felt “besieged”, that he could not move “forward or back”, and that he extracted arms from him.
“I took the knife from him. I thought they would shoot me, they would kill me. They were attacking me, a large crowd of people, and there was a knife, and I was alone, and I was isolated, I have nothing,” the accused said.
After the fight, 4 people were arrested, the two brothers Albert and Adria, their father and a friend of the family.
According to the Cronica Global website, Adria was imprisoned on August 16, 2024, and he remained detained until January 2025. Since then, the lawyers of the four accused, especially Adria’s lawyer, have played a “legal battle for investigation with Mounir Nasrawi, also on charges of the previous attack on the fight.”
At the beginning, the investigating judge refused to release the young man, so the lawyers appealed this ruling before a court in Barcelona, eventually ruled in the interest of the accused and ordered his release temporarily.
The defense team then managed to persuade the court to include the case a criminal complaint against Mounir Nasrawi on charges of physical abuse. The case now shows that the fight was mutual and that there was no single victim.
Suspect
In his initial pleading, the investigating judge in Mattaru considered that Nasrawi was defending himself when he assaulted “Adria C.S.”, and thus behaved in self -defense.
But the defense team for the young man insisted from the beginning that Nasrawi’s aggression was not a proportional reaction, but rather the beginning of a physical quarrel, which justified the investigation of the damage that caused it.
The argument of the defense team, which the court now has, was to integrate injuries with the same procedure, considering that the events cannot be analyzed in isolation from each other, but rather it is part of one incident of one violence with a joint responsibility.
Therefore, after the support of the Barcelona Court, Nasrawi was called for his testimony as a suspect on July 21, knowing that he has not yet appeared in the case as an affected party.
