A form of cancer was diagnosed during the king’s recent hospital intervention for benign prostatic hypertrophy, the press release said.
Buckingham announced in a statement Monday evening that King Charles II had cancer.
“During King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostatic enlargement, another area of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests identified a form of cancer”indicates the press release.
Buckingham states: “Her Majesty today began a program of regular treatments, during which doctors have advised her to postpone speaking to the public. Throughout this period, Her Majesty will continue to attend to affairs of state and administrative formalities as usual.”
Charles III wanted to thank his medical team for their rapid intervention, made possible thanks to his recent hospitalization. He says to stay “totally positive about his treatment” and hope “resume fully” his public functions “as soon as possible”.
The press release indicates that “Her Majesty has chosen to share her diagnosis to avoid speculation and in the hope that it may help the public understand all those affected by cancer around the world.”
