US Vice President Kamala Harris is now assured of being the Democratic presidential candidate against Donald Trump.

The Democratic Party convention is now a formality. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has secured enough votes from Democratic delegates to become her party’s official nominee in the Nov. 5 election.Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Jaime Harrison announced Friday.

The announcement was made during an online event with Democratic supporters. Delegates began voting virtually on Thursday, a process that will continue through Monday evening.
