John Mearsheimer: Israel chooses ‘apartheid’ or ‘ethnic cleansing’ | Israelo-Palestinian conflict

American political scientist John Mearsheimer speaks of the “campaign of punishment” carried out by Israel against the civilian population in Palestine.

Israel went much further than “going after Hamas” during the first ten weeks of its war on Gaza, according to one of America’s leading political scientists, John Mearsheimer.

He tells host Steve Clemons that killing hundreds of civilians daily and starving the rest is a “campaign of punishment” and “should be unacceptable to decent people around the world.”

In this episode, Mearsheimer, who teaches international relations at the University of Chicago, examines Israel’s long-term strategies and explains why elites in the United States, Europe and the Arab world are failing to take concrete action to stop Israel’s bombing campaign.
