The American president spoke by telephone with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
US President Joe Biden assured Volodymyr Zelensky in a telephone call on Saturday that he remained convinced that US aid to Ukraine, blocked in Congress, would eventually be validated.
“There is so much at stake, he told the press. The idea, now that they’re out of ammo, that we’re leaving is absurd.”
Present at the Munich Security Conference, Volodymyr Zelensky insisted during a press conference with Vice-President Kamala Harris on the expectation of a “positive decision” of Congress for help “vital” of his “strategic partner”.
These statements come after the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the town of Avdiivka, located near Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine, after several months of fierce fighting.
The Ukrainian army also indicated that it had thwarted a Russian offensive on the Zaporizhia front on Saturday, forcing Russian forces to retreat to their previous positions.
