Mahalla’s Jerusalem – Under the heading of “punitive demolition”, the Israeli occupation forces – today, Tuesday – blew up the homes of the two Jerusalemite martyrs, Ibrahim and Murad Nimr, who were martyred on November 30 last year after carrying out a shooting attack inside the “Ramot” settlement, north of Jerusalem.

The two young men come from the town of Sur Baher, south of Jerusalem, and about an hour after their identities were identified, after carrying out the operation, large forces from the army and special forces stormed their homes, took their measurements, and closed them in preparation for blowing them up.

At exactly nine-thirty this morning, the occupation forces stormed the town of Sur Baher and the Wadi Al-Hummus neighborhood, and distributed leaflets to the residents adjacent to the two targeted houses, which were two residential apartments, stating that they must be in internal rooms, and that they are prohibited from leaving until they are allowed to do so.

At exactly twelve-thirty in the afternoon, the units specializing in planting explosives finished their work and detonated the two houses remotely, amid a heavy presence of the army, police, and special forces.

The two apartments housed the families of the two martyrs, Murad, who is married and the father of three daughters, and Ibrahim, who is married and the father of a daughter. The area of each apartment is 140 square meters and is located within a residential building that includes the homes of the martyrs’ father and his children on “Umm Lisun” Street in the town of Sur Baher.

The demolition of the two brothers’ homes is the first punitive demolition operation since the beginning of this year, and is added to 7 homes demolished in 2023 under this item for Jerusalemite martyrs and prisoners. This policy falls under the framework of collective punishments for Jerusalemites through which the occupation seeks to deter them from any acts of resistance in the city.

It is noteworthy that Murad (38 years old) and Ibrahim (30 years old) are freed prisoners who spent several years in Israeli prisons on charges of belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

The shooting they carried out resulted in the killing of 4 Israelis, one of whom was shot by a soldier found at the scene, and the wounding of 11 others, with injuries ranging from moderate to serious, while they were at a public bus stop in the “Ramot” settlement.

In addition to the punishment for bombing the two houses, the bodies of the two martyrs, Nimr, continue to be held for the 41st day in a row in the occupation’s refrigerators.
