Occupied Jerusalem- Although the number of settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem during November recorded a decrease compared to previous months, extremist groups continued to carry out their daily violations against the first two qiblahs, and their members treat the place as a Jewish holy place.

Over the course of that month, 3,879 extremist men and women stormed the Blessed Mosque, and they practiced Biblical rituals, most notably prayers and what they call epic prostration. Some young men and women also blessed their marriage inside the courtyards, and some families celebrated their children’s puberty as well.

At the beginning of the same month, an extremist distributed sweets to the intruders to celebrate Donald Trump’s victory in the American elections. A group of rabbis also stormed the Noble Mosque, and a rabbi who stormed it for the first time, Daniel Stefsky, participated with them.

Violations and Judaization

The extremist organization “Bedino” promoted on its Facebook page its conference, which will be held on the fourth of December under the slogan “The path to victory is in our hands… what we have achieved and where we are going until victory.”

The activists of these groups did not hesitate to publish the attacks they carried out in the first two prayers, such as storming in military uniform and performing epic prostrations, and publishing phrases on social media platforms with these images, such as, “This week on the Temple Mount is a reserve officer praying for victory in Israel’s wars. We continue to fill the Temple Mount.” “With the Jews because this is our homeland” and others.

While the settlers remained at large despite carrying out all these violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque, the arrest campaigns continued in Jerusalem. Tel Aviv Tribune Net monitored more than 64 arrest cases, in which 9 minors were victims, in addition to 5 women. The occupation courts also issued 14 administrative detention orders against prisoners from the Jerusalem Governorate.

As part of the deportation, 5 deportation orders were issued, one of them from Al-Aqsa Mosque and another from the city of Jerusalem. The occupation authorities also imposed the penalty of house arrest on a young man and a woman.

The occupation force carried out 37 demolition operations in the Jerusalem Governorate during the past month, including 10 forced self-demolition operations. In the town of Silwan alone, 14 facilities were demolished, and the Al-Bustan neighborhood – whose residents are at risk of forced displacement – had the lion’s share of demolition crimes.

Laws and settlement

In the corridors of the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament), a draft law was proposed that restricts and prohibits the activities of the Palestinian Authority, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the Fatah movement within the borders of the occupying state, including East Jerusalem.

As for settlement, the Local Planning and Building Committee in the occupation municipality approved a plan to build new housing units in the Jabal Abu Ghneim settlement south of Jerusalem on an area of 15 dunums (a dunum equals a thousand square metres) and to build 292 other housing units on the lands of the Qatamon neighborhood west of Jerusalem, which Its people were displaced in 1948, in addition to the municipality proposing a plan to establish a settlement neighborhood on the lands of the town and Qalandiya camp, north of the city, which includes between 7 and 9 thousand housing units.

Despite the gloom of the scene in the holy Palestinian city, the Abu Al-Hawa family in the town of Al-Tur rejoiced after they succeeded in reclaiming their home from the settlers after they stormed it and seized it for several months.

Before the curtain came down in November, the occupation police evacuated the “Kestero” café in the Al-Musrara neighborhood near Damascus Gate in favor of the Israeli “Absentee Property Custodian.” The Arabic Knowledge Department in the occupation municipality also announced its plan to receive students from UNRWA schools before they were closed in Jerusalem after a decision. The Knesset banned this international agency.
