The Badu municipality, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, today, Saturday, carried out a wide blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Central Blood Bank in support of the wounded and patients of the Gaza Strip.
The mayor of Badu Salem Abu Eid said in an interview with Al -Jazeera Net that the people of Badu and the neighboring villages have responded greatly to the campaign, adding that “Palestinian blood unites us from Jerusalem to Gaza”, and a call to all governorates of the country to organize similar campaigns.
For her part, the doctor of the Central Blood Bank, Abla Al -Khaddour, explained that the campaign targeted the support of the wounded of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as well as patients in need of blood units, such as Thalassemia patients, kidney failure and chronic diseases, in addition to emergency surgical cases.
Al -Khaddour added that the campaign witnessed a wide turnout, as more than 130 blood units were collected in just a few hours.
A number of donors confirmed to Al -Jazeera Net that this initiative represents the least that can be presented to the people of Gaza, in light of the ongoing aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023, and appealed to all who can donate to participate in these humanitarian campaigns.
