The Israeli army continues its military operations in the city of Jenin and its camp, in the northern West Bank, for the fifth consecutive day, amid violent clashes and ambushes carried out by the resistance.
While the escalation continues in other areas, 3 Israeli police officers were killed this morning, Sunday, in an armed attack west of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said that two Palestinians were injured today by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets in Jenin camp.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that an Israeli sniper targeted the press crews and Tel Aviv Tribune crew near the entrance to Jenin camp.
Jenin and other areas in the northern West Bank are being subjected to an Israeli attack for the fifth day, which has so far resulted in 22 Palestinian martyrs.
Ongoing clashes
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades-Jenin said that its fighters are engaged in fierce clashes with the Israeli occupation forces that have penetrated the Jenin camp with machine guns and explosive devices.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported explosions and armed clashes inside Jenin camp. The correspondent said that Israeli military helicopters are flying intensively over the camp.
He added that the occupation forces continue to besiege Jenin Governmental Hospital and prevent medical crews from reaching it. They also obstruct the work of rescue and infrastructure repair teams and prevent them from entering the camp.
Jenin camp is witnessing clashes between resistance fighters and occupation forces for the fifth day, where an Israeli soldier was killed and others were injured yesterday in an ambush in the camp.
Circulating pictures showed a number of soldiers transporting an injured soldier from inside the Al-Damj neighbourhood in the city.
earthquake
The mayor of Jenin described the destruction caused by the Israeli army in the city, its eastern neighborhood and its camp as an “earthquake,” as he put it.
Palestinian platforms published scenes documenting the occupation forces’ continued siege of Ibn Sina Hospital in the city of Jenin. The scenes show the occupation forces searching citizens in front of the hospital gate, and continuing to destroy streets and citizens’ property in the city and its camp.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club reported that the occupation forces arrested 36 Palestinians, including a female journalist, 4 female students and former prisoners, last night and this morning, in various parts of the West Bank. They said that the arrests were concentrated in the Hebron Governorate.
The two bodies indicated that the arrests included 110 Palestinians since the start of the ongoing military operation in the city of Jenin.
This brings the number of detainees since October 7, from the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, to more than 10,400.
MSF called on Israel to respect its obligations as an occupying power in the West Bank, and to respect and protect hospitals, ambulances and its medical humanitarian mission.
The organization added that the Israeli forces are obstructing access to health facilities and preventing ambulances from passing. It explained that the occupation forces are besieging Khalil Suleiman Hospital in Jenin, and that its medical team has stopped kidney dialysis operations at the hospital.
The organization revealed that a volunteer who trained with it reported that he was beaten and interrogated by Israeli forces in Tulkarm.
Hebron attack
In the context, 3 Israeli police officers were killed this morning in an armed attack on a car at the Tarqumiya checkpoint west of Hebron, while the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called for an escalation of operations against the occupation.
The Israeli ambulance service reported that two police and border guards were killed immediately and a third was seriously injured. The injured person later died of his wounds.
For its part, the Israeli army said that the three dead were security forces and police officers who were on duty, adding that the car used in the attack was found empty after the perpetrators were able to withdraw.
He added that he had sent reinforcements to the area and was besieging the town of Idhna (northwest of Hebron), as part of the search for the perpetrators of the armed attack.
The Israeli Army Radio also said that the army raided the town of Idhna, adjacent to the site of the attack, noting that the pursuit of the attackers is ongoing.
Palestinian sources reported that Israeli reconnaissance planes flew over the town of Tarqumiya and the surrounding areas northwest of Hebron, as part of a search for the perpetrators of the shooting.
The Tarqumiya attack comes two days after the double operation that took place around two settlements north of Hebron, which resulted in the injury of 3 Israelis, including the commander of the Etzion Brigade.
