Israel’s military prosecutor: The bombing of Rafah is “extremely dangerous” and we are conducting an investigation News

Israeli Military Prosecutor Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi announced today, Monday, that the bombing launched by the Israeli army on a camp for displaced people in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, on Sunday evening was “extremely dangerous,” noting that an investigation is being conducted to find out the details of the incident.

The Israeli bombing resulted in the killing of about 45 Palestinian civilians and the injury of dozens, most of them children and women, in the Tal al-Sultan area, northwest of Rafah.

Israel considered this area “safe” and did not warn its residents or request its evacuation.

Yerushalmi explained, during a conference at the Tel Aviv Bar Association, that the details of the incident are still under investigation, and that they are committed to conducting it accurately.

For its part, the Israeli army claimed in a statement that the bombing targeted activists from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), but acknowledged that there were reports of civilians being injured and a fire breaking out in the place.

The massacre in the city of Rafah sparked sharp regional and international criticism of Israel, with accusations of defying international legitimacy resolutions, amid calls to impose sanctions and pressure it to end the genocide and stop the attack on Rafah.

About 70 military investigations were opened

Yerushalmi also revealed that about 70 military investigations have been opened into suspicions that Israel has committed “criminal crimes in the war” that has been ongoing in Gaza since October 7, according to Army Radio.

Yerushalmi did not specify whether any of these investigations or their findings have been completed.

The devastating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more than 116,000 Palestinians, most of them children and women, in addition to about 10,000 missing people, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues its war despite orders from the International Court of Justice to stop the ground attack on the city of Rafah and take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in the Strip.
