He said “It is written that the future of Jerusalem is to expand to Damascus.”
Religious sentiment has taken center stage in recent years under a series of far-right governments, mostly shaped by Netanyahu. He sees his army as Israelis fighting the Amalekites, and the Gaza war as an opportunity to achieve what Smotrich called, “Israel’s decisive plan.”
