The Israeli writer, Efrat Leipovitz, criticized the Israeli and religious society in particular, considering that the continued ignorance of famine and suffering in the Gaza Strip is an explicit betrayal of Jewish teachings and the values of the Torah itself.
The writer, in an article published by the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz, saw that the images of famine and destruction in Gaza return to mind what was stated in the Book of Jeremiah’s legacy, “traditionally recited in the rituals of mourning for the ruin of the temple, specifically on the night of the ninth anniversary of August.”
Lebovitz asserts that this time the tragedy lives in the other side: “The horrific pictures of the hungry children and the patients in Gaza, and the parents who are unable to feed their children, are caught in a snare with what was written in the lamentations 2500 years ago.”

She added: “We who were victims throughout history, today we are repeating the same harm that caused us.”
The writer believes that this collapse in Gaza requires a firm moral position on the Jewish society.
Efrat Lipovitz emphasized that the greatest shame is not only in the act of injustice, but also in denying its occurrence.
And she continued: “What we have done in Gaza for more than 22 months is the same crime, but our silence is the full testimony of this crime.”

Efarat Leipovitz stressed that whoever does not raise his voice to stop the war and the siege, implicitly admits that famine is part of his goals.
The spokesman for the Al -Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Dr. Khalil Al -Duqran, confirmed on Sunday that the starring war in the Gaza Strip entered the fifth stage.
