Israeli writer: A military unit destroying 409 buildings in Gaza in retaliation for the killing of one of their comrades policy

Israeli writer Seifan Tahl revealed that an Israeli military unit known as the “Euria Force” demolished 409 buildings in the Gaza Strip during the condolence week of the killing of the reserve soldier, Afrham Azoulay, in an operation that sparked widespread controversy in the ideological dimensions of the ongoing destruction operations in the Strip.

The author stated – in a report on the site of Humkum Hakhi Raw – that Azoulay, 25, a former settlement of the Yitzhar settlement, was killed while participating in the demolition of buildings in Khan Yunis on July 9, in the context of his work as a digger operator, in an engineering unit known as “2640”, an irregular unit that includes reserve soldiers and civilians, most of whom are settlers who were recruited through private building companies.

Azoulay’s colleagues in the unit, during the Jewish funeral week, carried out a demolition campaign during which they destroyed 409 buildings in Gaza, and they presented the operation in WhatsApp groups belonging to settlement activists as “honoring the spirit of their colleague”, which expresses – according to the writer – a reality in which military action intersects with settlement ideology directly, in which demolitions are carried out widely under a military cover, without mentioning.

A hero after death

The writer indicated that the “Euria Power” is not a systematic unit within the Israeli army, but was formed in late 2024 by a prominent settlement figure called Urih Lubarbum, one of the symbols of the extremist religious right.

This force consists of about 100 engineering equipment, most of whom are settlers from hotbeds of the West Bank who were employed through civilian companies, and they participate – according to the writer – in demolitions inside Gaza, without receiving appropriate military training, but they are working under the protection of regular combat units from the army.

The writer shed light on the personal background of the Azoulay soldier, and said that he grew up in the settlement of “Ezar” and later moved to Teeshar known for the extremism of its residents, noting that he joined the “Uyuri” unit last June, after a turbulent military path, during which his rank was reduced from a first sergeant to a soldier due to a period without permission, but the army Restore He has his ranks and his rituals after his death, “in appreciation of his courage in his recent moments,” as an official statement of the army described.

“He always told me that he was taking revenge on what happened on October 7. He saw that the destruction of homes was the only way to ensure that the Palestinians would not return to,” the author quoted Azoulay’s father. He used to say to his father, “Dad. We are destroying their homes. They will not have a place to return to.”

The true face of the demolition

In a related context, the writer indicated that these demolitions have become a profitable project, paying the Israeli army to the operators for amounts of up to 2,500 shekels for each building. From a floor, two or three They destroy it, and 5,000 shekels for the buildings higher than that, which means that some The operators earn tens of thousands per month of demolition work.

The writer noted that the same engineering equipment that was used to build settlement foci in the West Bank, including “Avitar”, is now transferred to Gaza to carry out the demolition under the guise of “fighting terrorism”, and reported that “Lubarbum” himself said during a parliamentary session last March, “We have 116 bulldozers ready to work for free, if the army needs it.”

What started as a project to re -control Gaza has already turned into a systematic removal of entire residential neighborhoods, with settlers and activists in strict settlement movements.

The writer has documented the “Uyuri Power” logo on engineering equipment that has appeared in multiple records since the beginning of 2025, the brand that “Lubbren” launched on his new project, which combines engineering, settlement and military support.

The writer stated that 70% of the Gaza buildings are not valid for housing, according to international reports, while demolitions continue with a mixture of ideological motives and economic gains, without real accountability from the army leadership.

Sivan Tahl concluded its report by noting that what started as a project to re -control Gaza has already turned into a systematic removal of entire residential neighborhoods, with settlers and activists in strict settlement movements, as if the land is preparing, not just for military operations, but after the war.
