The New York Times reported testimonies of Israeli soldiers who witnessed or participated in the use of Palestinian detainees in Gaza as human shields, while a government official confirmed that the occupation used explosive robots.
The American New York Times reported that at least 11 teams made up of Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers used Palestinians as human shields in 5 cities in Gaza.
She explained that Israeli soldiers forcibly sent detained Palestinian civilians to areas where they believed Hamas members had set up ambushes.
It was reported that Israeli soldiers forced the Palestinians to explore and photograph the tunnel networks in which they believed Hamas members were still hiding, and to transport items that they believed were booby-trapped in these tunnels, such as electrical generators and water tanks.
Speaking to the New York Times, 7 Israeli soldiers admitted that they witnessed or participated in the aforementioned practices.
These soldiers stated that the use of detained Palestinian civilians as human shields was a routine, normal and organized practice and that this was done with the knowledge of their commanders.
The newspaper also spoke to 8 Israeli soldiers and officials aware of the practice, on the condition that their names not be revealed, regarding the use of Palestinians as human shields in Gaza.
The soldiers explained that they began using this practice during the current war because of the desire to reduce the risks to infantry.
Explosive barrels and robots
As part of the Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, sources revealed to Tel Aviv Tribune that the occupation army is planting explosive barrels in neighborhoods in Al-Faluga, west of the Jabalia camp, and is besieging dozens of families amid the presence of a large number of women, children, and the wounded.
For his part, Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip, said on Monday that the Israeli army is using explosive robots and explosive barrels as part of the ethnic cleansing of the northern Gaza Strip as part of the ongoing war of extermination since October 7, 2023.
In a statement to Anadolu, Al-Thawabta explained that mobile robots are increasingly being used, which are remotely managed devices that enter Palestinian streets and homes and explode, leading to huge human and material losses in a brutal manner of genocide.
On Saturday, a security source told Anadolu Agency that this weapon was used for the first time during the invasion of the former Jabalia camp last May, when the Palestinians discovered an Israeli troop carrier entering between residential homes.
He pointed out that Palestinian fighters thought that this vehicle was manned, so they targeted it, causing a massive explosion in the area. It later turned out to be a robot carrying explosive fire barrels.
Al-Thawabta confirmed to Anadolu Agency that robots are used to deliberately and systematically destroy infrastructure and residential neighborhoods, leaving widespread destruction in the targeted areas and dozens of martyrs and injuries.
Al-Thawabta pointed out that the occupation is not limited to that, but also resorts to throwing or placing plastic containers similar to those used to store cleaning materials or mineral water, after booby-trapping them, and detonating them when citizens approach them.
He explained that these methods increased the number of martyrs in the northern Gaza Strip, as the occupation targets civilian gatherings with these explosive containers that are detonated remotely.

During the genocide, the Israeli army intensified the use of Quadcopter drones, which transformed them from a tool for photography and surveillance into a deadly and surprising weapon that participated in the field execution of Palestinians by directly targeting them with live bullets and explosive bombs.
The army has clearly employed these drones, which are clearly flying over the Gaza Strip, as robotic soldiers, executing orders remotely, and they are used to pursue Palestinians and shoot them using sniper methods and field executions.
In the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to genocide and ethnic cleansing since October 6, these marches participated in military operations and tightened the siege imposed on its entrances by firing live bullets at anyone who tried to leave and enter the area.
For the 11th day, the Israeli army continues its invasion of the northern Gaza Strip, amid a severe siege and starvation during which the entry of food, drink, or fuel is prohibited, under continuous bloody bombardment.
The army is trying to displace Palestinians from the north of the Gaza Strip to its south, amid Palestinian accusations against Tel Aviv of working to occupy the region and empty it of its population through siege, starvation and killing.
