Today, Saturday, the families of the Israeli prisoners in Gaza warned against escalating the fighting in the Strip, as it would kill their relatives and erase the bodies of the dead, and also demanded the overthrow of the Benjamin Netanyahu government.
In a press conference organized by the families of the prisoners in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, a prisoner relative said, “The escalation of the fighting will not only kill the detainees, but will also erase the bodies of the dead.”
He added that “the war that (Prime Minister Benjamin) claims is a war for peace, is a war of killing the detainees, and we must stand against it.”
A relative of another detainee said during the conference that “summoning the reserve soldiers with the aim of expanding the military operation in Gaza will only result in the killing of the detainees.”
She added, “Despite everyone’s knowledge that the military pressure leads to the killing of the detainees and the disappearance of the dead bodies, we were informed yesterday that Netanyahu intended to summon the reserve soldiers to expand the military operation.”
She added that Netanyahu “sends soldiers to an unnecessary war and refuses to end it.”
Netanyahu dropping
Prisoners’ families saw that the only way to restore all detainees is to overthrow and change the Netanyahu government. Considering the overthrow of Netanyahu’s rule is the demand for this stage and everyone should go out to the streets to bring it down.
The families said that “Netanyahu is still sacrificing the lives of our soldiers in order to save his government,” and added, “If we want to rebuild the state and close the October 7 file, we must bring down the Netanyahu government.”
The families sent a message to US President Donald Trump that “do not give up the prisoners and pay attention to Netanyahu’s tricks.”
And Friday, Netanyahu decided during security consultations in which Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, participated to expand the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip, including the summons of thousands of military forces, according to the newspaper “Yediot Aharonot”.
The decision is scheduled to be presented to the mini cabinet “cabinet” during the next few days, to ratify it.
“Yediot Aharonot” stated that many reserve officers informed their forces to prepare for a sudden summons, while the army explained in a statement that the reserve will be called “carefully and responsible, according to objective and professional considerations.”
While the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Friday that it had presented a vision based on a comprehensive and a 5 -year ceasefire agreement, which Netanyahu met with rejection and insistence on dividing the files.
War is more important than the prisoners
On Thursday, Netanyahu considered that the completion of the fighting is more important than restoring the Israeli prisoners in Gaza, which was criticized by their families, who did not stop claiming their families and stopping the war.
On April 21, the Israeli Finance Minister of Salawel Smotrich angered the families of the prisoners with a similar statement, in which he said that the restoration of the prisoners “is not the most important goal.”
Tel Aviv estimates the presence of 59 Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip, 24 of whom are alive, while more than 9,900 Palestinians are in its prisons, suffering to torture, starvation and medical neglect, which killed many of them, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
In early March, the first phase of a ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel ended on January 19, 2025, with Egyptian -American mediation and American support, and the Palestinian movement was committed to.
However, Netanyahu is required for the International Criminal Court dismissing his second stage and resumed genocide in Gaza on March 18, in response to the most extreme wing in his right -wing government, to achieve his political interests.
Since October 7, 2023, with absolute American support, Israel has been committing a systematic genocide in the Gaza Strip that left more than 170,000 Palestinians between a martyr and a wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
