A number of senior officers of the General Authority of the Israeli Occupation Army attacked Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy due to the faltering military operations in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that verbal altercations broke out during a meeting yesterday, Monday, between senior Israeli army generals and Halevy, as the generals blamed Halevy for the losses the Israeli army is suffering in Gaza, and for its failure to achieve decisive achievements.
The channel quoted senior officers as saying, “We are stumbling and do not achieve victory. We are not consulted when making decisions. We are walking on water in this war.”
The Chief of Staff replied, “There are no consultations in wartime.”
Halevy added, “I assumed responsibility in the first days of the war, and I said at the Wailing Wall (Al-Buraq) in front of the entire audience that I am responsible and that the sense of responsibility accompanies me every day and in every decision I make in the war. I am now focused on achieving the goals of the war, and I expect everyone to feel about it.” This table feels the same way.”
Halevy recently complained that the lack of a political strategy for the post-war period meant that the army was repeatedly forced to fight in places in the Gaza Strip from which it had already withdrawn. He cited Jabalia as an example.
New losses
Yesterday evening, Monday, the occupation army announced that 14 soldiers were injured in the battles in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours. He also admitted that 41 soldiers were injured in battles since last Friday.
Since the beginning of the war, 3,703 military personnel, including officers and soldiers, have been injured, including 1,878 during the ground operation, including 254 officers and soldiers who are still undergoing treatment, 32 of whom have serious injuries.
The Israeli war on Gaza left more than 117,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues the war despite orders from the International Court of Justice to immediately stop the ground attack on the city of Rafah (south), and to take temporary measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Israel also ignores the International Criminal Court’s intention to issue international arrest warrants against its Prime Minister and Defense Minister. For their responsibility for “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” in Gaza.
For the 18th year, Israel has besieged the Gaza Strip, and its war forced about two million of its residents, numbering about 2.3 million Palestinians, to flee in catastrophic conditions, with severe scarcity of food, water, and medicine.
