Israeli offensive on the occupied West Bank of the West Bank moved by force 40,000: a | News Israel-Palestine Conflict

The UN indicates that 44 deaths in the West Bank occupied since January were linked to operations in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tobas.

The United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) said that the forced displacement of Palestinians in the northern area of occupied West Bank has increased at an alarming rate, the number of evacuating people reaching 40,000 since January.

UNRWA’s warning came while Israeli forces continued with their massive raids on Tuesday, storming Jenin and arresting three people, while demolishing more than a dozen houses in two areas near the city from Hebron.

Since the start of an Israeli operation on January 21, targeting Jenin’s refugee camp and his neighboring city, the raids have extended to other areas of the occupied territory, UNRWA said.

He said that several refugee camps, including Jenin, Tulkarem, Nur Shams and Far’a, were “almost emptied of their residents”, describing the military operation of almost three weeks like “the longest of the West Bank” Since the second intifada.

According to UNRWA, the four camps collectively housed some 76,600 Palestinian refugees.

UNRWA said “repeated and destructive operations” led by Israeli forces “have rendered the northern refugees uninhabitable, trapping residents of cyclic displacement”.

“In 2024, more than 60% of the trips was the result of” Israeli forces operations, “in the absence of any judicial ordinance,” he added.

So far, UNRWA has noted that Israel has carried out 38 air raids aimed at the West Bank.

According to data from the location and the event of armed conflict (ACLED), a crisis surveillance group based in the United States, the West Bank operation killed nearly 70 people and at least 44 of the deaths were Linked to Israeli operations in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tobas. These figures are supported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

UNRWA has reiterated its call to Israelis to protect civilians and civil infrastructure “at any time”, adding that “collective punishment is never acceptable”.

Since January 30, UNRWA has no contact with the Israeli authorities, after their ban has entered into force, which makes it impossible to raise concerns concerning civil suffering in Palestinian territory, noted the agency .

“This puts the life of Palestine refugees at serious risks and UNRWA staff who serve them,” he said.
