Media reports revealed increasing concern in Israeli security and political circles about what they described as a “war on eight fronts,” stressing the importance of American support in confronting these multiple challenges.

According to Channel 13’s military affairs correspondent, Or Heller, Israel is currently facing eight fronts, after previously considering the conflict confined to seven regional fronts. Heller explained that the “eighth front” is the internal front, which has been witnessing escalating tension recently.

In this context, Kan 11’s police affairs correspondent, Moshe Steinitz, highlighted the increase in operations carried out by Israeli Arabs.

He pointed out that 12 operations had been carried out since the beginning of 2024, a number he described as “huge” compared to previous years, and added that these operations constitute a new security challenge for the Israeli authorities.

Strong pressure

In light of these multiple challenges, former head of the Military Intelligence Division, Amos Yadlin, stressed the necessity of American support for any large-scale Israeli operation.

Yadlin stressed the importance of American assistance in areas such as missiles, refueling aircraft, and defense systems against Iranian missiles, saying, “Even if we hit the most ambitious targets for us, we will not be able to do it alone. The Americans must be with us.”

In a related context, Channel 12 political affairs analyst, Dana Weiss, pointed out the importance of the recent phone call between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Weiss explained that the call addressed the limits of the possible Israeli operation, noting that there is pressure from security officials to carry out a strong operation, even if it leads to unprecedented damage.

Advanced Iranian missiles

Regarding external threats, the military affairs analyst for Kan 11, Roi Sharon, touched on the development in Iranian missile capabilities.

Sharon noted that the missiles Iran recently launched were more advanced than those used in the previous April attack, estimating that Iran used about a third of its arsenal of advanced ballistic missiles.

He added, “We are talking about 180-200 ballistic missiles last week, and they were better not in their weight but in their quality.”

For his part, Channel 13’s military affairs analyst, Alon Ben David, pointed to the development of the resistance’s missile launching tactics.

He explained that the resistance has become able to intensify and focus its missile attacks, which poses an increasing challenge to the Israeli Iron Dome system. He said, “They are able to intensify and focus them. They no longer distribute a few missiles here and a few missiles there, but rather they were able to use multi-nozzle launch platforms.”
