Israeli media: The Gaza exchange deal is on its way to maturity news


Israeli Channel 12 said that the prisoner exchange and ceasefire deal in Gaza is on its way to maturity, adding that Hamas’s will to reach an agreement seems greater than it was.

She indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to renew his meetings next week with the families of prisoners in Gaza.

In turn, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said, Regarding the negotiations between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation), the differences between the two parties are not fundamental, indicating that Qatar is cooperating with the US administration to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.

This came during the opening of the Doha Forum in its 22nd edition, about a month after Qatar suspended its mediation due to the “lack of seriousness” on the part of the parties.

The Qatari Prime Minister said: “We returned to our role in the negotiations regarding Gaza after we saw new momentum in the ceasefire talks after the election of US President Donald Trump.”

He stressed that the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza continues and its repercussions extend to Lebanon and Syria, and every effort must be made to put an end to it.

Earlier, the Associated Press quoted an American official that there has been progress in ceasefire negotiations recently, adding that the administration of current President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump have agreed to coordinate efforts to liberate prisoners in Gaza.

For his part, the official in the Hamas political bureau, Bassem Naim, stated that international mediators have recently resumed efforts to reach an agreement to end the war that has been ongoing for 14 months.
