Israeli experts were interested in what they considered the ability of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to operate military manufacturing workshops, and they said that this matter worries Israel. Opening cases against occupation soldiers abroad also received attention from the Israeli media, in light of the case that a demobilized soldier faces against him during his visit to Brazil.

Channel 12 reported that “the Hamas movement has returned to operating workshops to manufacture weapons,” which means – according to Amir Bar Shalom, military affairs correspondent for the Occupation Army Radio – that there are still underground factories that the Israeli army has not yet reached.

Although he said that the operation is not as large as the manufacturing capabilities that Hamas had on October 7, 2023, Shalom explained that rebuilding Hamas’ manufacturing capabilities raises concern in Israel because it means that “there is someone sitting behind the scenes and managing the process, and that there is rebuilding “For what is called command and control,” he warned, warning that Hamas had begun to restore its military position as a whole.

According to the head of the Security Council (former), Major General (Res.) Giora Eiland, “The Israeli army is leading successful operations in the Gaza Strip. But there is a political, partisan, civil, and economic battle in which Hamas is winning.”

Interesting Israeli statistics

On the other hand, the Israeli media focused on the issue of opening cases against Israeli army soldiers abroad, and Channel 14’s international affairs correspondent Ben Yaniv said that this case is disturbing and frightening, and that what happened to a demobilized soldier during his visit to Brazil will not be the last.

The head of the criminal department at Channel 11, Roy Yanovsky, said that he concealed his visit abroad, as he fought for several months in Gaza and recently traveled to Spain, stressing that his friends advised him not to publish anything on the Internet, because “there are Palestinian organizations that practice judicial terrorism.”

He added, “The Palestinian organizations are following thousands of soldiers who were in Gaza and checking their whereabouts through the Internet, and if they discover that they are in countries related to detention, they submit requests to arrest them.”

Channel 12 political affairs correspondent Yaron Abraham revealed that interesting Israeli statistics, some of which remained secret, indicate that since October 7, 12 cases have been recorded in which procedures were initiated against soldiers, and in most cases the matter did not reach the level of investigation and arrest.

He stressed that Israel worked to smuggle these soldiers from the countries that began taking measures against them, namely Brazil, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Belgium, the Netherlands, Serbia, Ireland, and Cyprus.

In the same context, Channel 13 military affairs correspondent Or Heller said that prosecutions against soldiers abroad will remain a headache that haunts Israel for years to come, and revealed that so far complaints have been filed against Israeli soldiers in South Africa, Sri Lanka, Belgium, France and Brazil.

He said, “The matter began with what the soldiers themselves provided, as they filmed themselves in Gaza and Lebanon and posted on Facebook, Tik Tok, and Instagram, while destroying homes and carrying out operations, and these are the materials that Palestinian organizations are looking for.”
