An Israeli was seriously injured on Wednesday in a ramming attack north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, amid reports that the perpetrator, whose identity has not yet been determined, was killed.

The Israeli army confirmed that a gas truck driven by a Palestinian had run over people near the Givat Asaf junction at a bus stop, saying that it had shot and killed the perpetrator.

The army added that its forces closed off the area of the run-over operation.

Haaretz newspaper quoted the Israeli ambulance as confirming that a person was critically injured in the run-over attack north of Ramallah.

It is noteworthy that the run-over operation comes amid the ongoing military operation of the occupation in the cities of the northern West Bank, and the destruction of infrastructure by its forces and their targeting of resistance fighters.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, the Givat Asaf Junction witnessed a shooting operation carried out by Palestinians against an Israeli force, which led to the killing of two soldiers, which prompted the occupation army to strengthen security measures with surveillance cameras and snipers in the area.
