The Israeli army claims that the forces take up part of the corridor of key land to extend a “security zone and create a partial stamp”.
Israeli troops have resumed the ground operations in the besieged Gaza Strip, recovering control of a key terrestrial corridor while pursuing a large bombardment of the besieged enclave while a truce with Hamas collapsed.
The Israeli army said its forces regained control of the Center of the Netzarim corridor on Wednesday to extend a “security zone and create a partial stamp between the north and the south of the band”.
Last month, Israeli troops withdrew from the corridor, which Bissette Gaza, allowing civilians in the center and southern Gaza to return to what remained of their houses in the north after more than a year of war.
Hani Mahmoud, from Tel Aviv Tribune, reporting from Gaza City, said that the reoccupation of Netzarim will prevent the free movement of the Palestinians inside the enclave.
“The Israeli military presence in the region is equivalent to an invasion of the field. This is specified by the declaration (Israeli military). This will be part of a starting point, or a launch point for the occupation forces to implement military operations in the region,” said Mahmoud.
The field maneuver comes after Israel took over Gaza, killing more than 400 people on Tuesday after having accused Hamas of refusing a new version of the ceasefire under which many remaining captives are held in Gaza – the majority of whom would have died – would be released without Israel having not had to end the war.
To exert pressure on Hamas to accept the new agreement, Israel earlier this month blocked all the aid deliveries in the band and reduces electricity in the enclave.
Hamas insisted that Israel should stick to the original ceasefire, signed in January, according to which the two parties were to negotiate the transfer of remaining captives, a permanent cessation of hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
“Why do we have to present proposals while there is an agreement signed with international parties acting as guarantors?” Taher al-Nono, media advisor for the head of the Hamas political office, told Tel Aviv Tribune.
“There is also a resolution (United Nations).
Wednesday, Israeli Katz Wednesday, threatened to degenerate the offensive if all the captives held in Gaza were not released and Hamas was not eliminated from Gaza. “Israel will act with an intensity that you have not seen,” he said.
Gaza health authorities said dozens of people had been killed on Wednesday in several Israeli air raids, including a foreign UN employee killed during an attack on a United Nations complex in the Gaza center. Israel said that he had attacked Hamas targets in the center of Gaza.
Doctors said they had trouble dealing with the sharp increase in deaths and injured because hospitals lack medical supplies in the middle of renewed Israeli blocking.
