At least three Palestinians were killed, according to the Health Ministry, and one Israeli killed in a shooting, according to Israel.

Israeli forces killed three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian authorities, and an Israeli military reservist was killed in a shootout, Israel said.

Violence has spiked in the West Bank since Israel launched an attack on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7, after Hamas fighters killed at least 1,400 people in an attack on southern Israel.

Ayham al-Shafei, 14, and Yazan Shiha, 24, were killed in Al-Bireh, near Ramallah, during an Israeli raid on Thursday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

Israeli forces killed Qusai Quran, 19, during a raid on Qalqilya in the northern West Bank, according to the ministry.

Separately, on Thursday, the ministry said Hamdan Omar Hamdan, 14, died from head injuries sustained earlier this week by Israeli army fire. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the boy was in a car with his father at the time of the shooting.

The deaths bring the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank since the start of the war to 133, according to the Health Ministry.

More than 9,000 people have been killed in Israeli bombings on Gaza, including 3,760 children, according to Palestinian authorities.

Settlers storm Deir Sharaf village

Earlier Thursday, an Israeli reservist was killed in a shooting near the settlement of Einav in the northern West Bank, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.

The man was identified as Elhanan Klein and said he was wearing a military uniform at the time of the attack.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that “the terrorists fired at a vehicle which overturned as a result of the shooting,” adding that the army began chasing the fighters “and blocks roads in the region.

Following the attack, dozens of Israeli settlers descended on the nearby Palestinian town of Deir Sharaf. The settlers burned cars and attacked stores, according to local media.

Images from the scene showed plumes of black smoke rising into the sky.

“This morning, dozens of settlers gathered in Deir Sharaf, east of the city of Nablus, and they threw stones at the houses of (Palestinian) citizens under the protection of the occupying army” , said Asef Nofal, a Palestinian journalist present at the scene. , told Al Jazeera.

“They also set fire to three vehicles belonging to citizens of the village of Deir Sharaf and set fire to shops on the main road of this village.”

Settler violence has spiked in the West Bank since the start of the war. According to Israeli human rights group B’Tselem, at least 13 communities have been displaced in the West Bank.

Israeli forces have also intensified raids on Palestinian communities and carried out mass arrests. The army announced that it had arrested 49 people on Thursday, including 21 Hamas fighters.

More than 1,800 Palestinians have been arrested in the West Bank since October 7, more than half of them in administrative detention.
