At least 16 Palestinians pending food aid and 13 others loading electrical devices were killed by Israeli troops.
At least 92 people were killed in Israeli attacks through the Gaza Strip while desperate Palestinians continue to seek food in the midst of a continuous hunger crisis.
Among the killed since dawn on Thursday, 64 were in Gaza City and in the North and 16 others expected aid near the netzarim corridor, which divides the north and south of Gaza.
The hungry Palestinians gathered daily in the region to receive plans from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), supported by the United States and Israeli, which the United Nations condemned for its “armament” of aid.
Bassam Abu Shaar, who witnessed the Israeli attack on the aid site, told the AFP news agency that people had gathered overnight in the hope of receiving food.
“Around 1 a.m. (10 p.m. GMT on Wednesday), they started to shoot us. The shots intensified in the tanks, the planes and the quadcopères bombs,” he told AFP by phone.
“We could not help them or even escape,” he said, adding that the size of the crowd had prevented people from fleeing Israeli fire near the junction of Shuhada.
In recent weeks, Israeli attacks against the Palestinians who are trying to receive food aid have increased, killing dozens of people.
“Mortal daily routine”
Reporting Deir El-Balah from Deir El-Balah, Tareq Abu Azzoum of Tel Aviv Tribune said that attacks on people from help sites are becoming a “daily routine”.
“More than three months of complete blockage (Israeli) on border passages transformed Gaza into a hunger point where people have failed in all kinds of humanitarian supplies and have now been forced to move to these centers designated to obtain bags of flour, water bottles and alongside food boxes which, according to nutritional experts, contain a low nutritional value”, explained Azzoum.
“These attacks always take place, transforming all humanitarian corridors into killing grounds,” he said.
According to the reuters news agency, the Israeli army said, without providing proof, that there were attempts to “suspect” to approach the forces in the field of Netzarim in a way that had put them in danger.
The army added that the forces have shot warning to prevent suspects from approaching, and he was currently not aware of injuries in the incident.
In addition, an attack by Israeli drones on a makeshift tent where the Palestinians loaded their electrical devices in the refugee camp in Al SHATI, killed 13 people, while an Israeli plane also launched intensive air strikes and bombed several houses in Jabalia, north of Gaza.
Reporting Deir El-Balah, Hind Khoudary of Tel Aviv Tribune said that the attack on Israel against the charge point of the Al Shati camp came after “more than a year and a half” without electricity in the enclave.
At the same time, the attacks on aid distribution centers testify to the situation of “deterioration” in Gaza which forced the Palestinians to put “their lives in food,” added Khoudary.
“Only a limited and very limited number of trucks arriving (in Gaza) every day and people are very desperate; they are killed while they are trying to take everything on the trucks,” she added.
In the past 24 hours, 69 bodies, two of which were recovered after an attack, and 221 injured were admitted to the besieged enclave hospitals, medical sources said.
Since the start of the war in October 2023, at least 55,706 people have been killed and 130,101 injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
