Israeli analyst: Hamas does not surrender, and these are its fighting methods news

Israeli analyst Avi Issakharov said that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) does not show any sign of surrender, explaining that it has learned to turn to guerrilla warfare in the Gaza Strip, which has witnessed genocide committed by Israel since October 7, 2023.

Issakharov explained, in an analytical article in Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, that the occupation army seeks during its operation in northern Gaza to destroy Hamas’ infrastructure, but The big problem is that in order to do this, “you have to hit every house where there is suspected tunneling or hostile activity, and in almost every house you can find both.”

He added that Gaza appears to have been hit by a disaster, as “there are no people on the streets, and even stray dogs are hardly left here, because they realize that there is no leftovers to eat. The destruction is enormous, and when you patrol with Israeli army forces in the Strip, you can also understand why.”

The analyst quoted statements by the commander of the Kfir Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Yaniv Barot, who has been active in the northern Gaza Strip over the past two months, in which he said, “During this period, army forces in the region uncovered 7 and a half kilometers of tunnels, where a complex of tunnels is operated from each neighborhood, and one of the soldiers’ tasks is to reach “This underground infrastructure is destroyed.”

Barot added that their work in the northern Gaza Strip is exhausting and dangerous and has led to heavy losses. “We lost 12 soldiers here, which is a high price, and the most important challenge is to maintain flexibility after such an event.”

Guerrilla war

Issacharov stated that Hamas no longer acts as a military framework as it was in the past, “but the bad news is that it is difficult to see the end of this event. It will take months of fighting to finish the cleansing of the northern Gaza Strip alone, and secondly, this has a high price in terms of soldier casualties.” Thirdly, Hamas shows no sign of surrender.”

He explained that even in the northern cities of the Strip, attempts to fire missiles at Israel, and attempts to attack soldiers using small groups of 3 to 4 gunmen, or perhaps fewer, continue.

The Israeli analyst pointed out that there is no clear hierarchy of leadership in Hamas, and there is no exceptional military commander, but Hamas has learned to turn to guerrilla warfare in everything, within a devastated area, and this is the area in which the Israeli army is fighting with much larger forces.

He stressed that the Hamas movement has reorganized itself civilly and militarily in Gaza City, about two kilometers south of the northern Gaza Strip, where the movement has effectively rebuilt its governmental capabilities and military leadership, pointing out that the commander of the Gaza Brigade in Hamas, Ezz al-Din Haddad, continues his work in Gaza City and is managing the operation. Military in the city from there.

Capacity recovery

Issakharov said, “Even in other areas where the Israeli army is not active, such as the refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip, Al-Mawasi (south) and Deir Al-Balah (centre), Hamas is regaining its capabilities and proving its ability to rule, despite the level of damage it has suffered.”

The analyst considered, “The biggest problem for Israel is that although Hamas will continue to receive military strikes, time after time, in the absence of a real attempt to create an alternative ruler for it, the movement will succeed in rehabilitating itself again and again.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been waging genocide in the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 154,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters. In the world.
