Israeli attacks have killed dozens of Palestinians across Gaza during the night, including six family members.
The strikes struck a travel camp that Israel had appointed as a “humanitarian” area, and several tents housing people in Khan Younis, with rescue teams rushing to the scene after the attack.
At least 1,163 people were killed in Gaza since Israel took over large -scale strikes on March 18.
According to the Enclave Ministry of Health, the figure includes nearly 100 people killed in the last 24 hours, while three additional bodies, killed during previous strikes, have been recovered during this period, passing the overall number of deaths to 50,423 since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.
An Israeli army spokesman ordered residents of the Shujayea region and the Al-Jadida, Al-Turkman, Tasbeeh and Eastern Zeitoun districts to leave their homes.
The Israeli army “operates with great strength in your areas to destroy the terrorist infrastructure,” said Avichay Adraee on X. “You must evacuate these areas immediately and move to the shelters known in the west of the city of Gaza,” he said.
It is not clear what are the “known shelters”. During the forced evacuation orders of the past, Adraee called on the Palestinians to move to shelters in areas designated as “safe areas”, but these were then attacked by the Israeli army.
In March, the United Nations humanitarian agency reported that 142,000 people had been moved since Israel renewed its war against the enclave on March 18, breaking a fragile January cease-fire.
