Israel: Relatives of hostages begin four-day march to Jerusalem


The starting point of the march is the kibbutz of Reïm, where the Nova festival was held on October 7, 2023.

Having left southern Israel on Tuesday, they hope to arrive in Jerusalem in four days. Among these marchers, relatives of hostages held by Hamas since October 7, but also some of the released hostages.

With this movement, they hope to put pressure on the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. It is also in front of the Prime Minister’s residence that they plan to end their march.

We want to bring them home. Last time we walked we brought some back and now we’re going to take the rest home“, explains Inbal Tzach, cousin of one of the hostages.

There are still around 130 hostages remaining in the Gaza Strip. Negotiations are currently taking place in Doha between Qatar, Egypt and the United States. With the aim of finding an agreement between Israel and Hamas, for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages.

According to US President Joe Biden, this agreement could be reached before the start of Ramadan, which is due to begin around March 11.
