The conviction continues after the attack on Nasser Hospital
Legal experts asked Israel to investigate its “double-tap” attack against the Nasser Hospital in Gaza on Monday, which killed at least 21 people, including five journalists. The so -called “double tape” attacks involve hitting a target and waiting for emergency speakers and journalists to arrive on the scene before bombing it a second time.
Netanyahu said in a statement published in English only that Israel deeply regretted what he characterized as a “tragic accident”, without explaining how Israel had struck the same hospital not once in an apparent error.
Human rights lawyer Geoffrey Nice said that admission of error by Israel was “very interesting”.
“(This) means that they should now not only be studied, but surveyed with absolute ferocity, in order to produce all the documents that would explain what they intended to do and how things went wrong,” Tel Aviv Tribune told Tel Aviv Tribune.
“If they cannot justify an error in terms of (strike A) an appropriate target with an evaluated level of collateral damage, they committed a war crime.”

In the preliminary conclusions published on Tuesday, the Israeli army said that an investigation into the incident suggested that the target had been a camera positioned in the region by Hamas to monitor Israeli troops.
“In the light of this, the strength acted to destroy the camera,” said the army. Israel regularly justifies her fatal attacks through the Gaza Strip, saying that she was aiming for Hamas.
Hamas called on the “baseless” accusation and said that Israel had no evidence. He added that the complaint was “simply aimed at escaping the legal and moral responsibility of a full massacre”.
Israel has repeatedly attacked hospitals during almost two years of its genocidal war against Gaza, claiming that Hamas is integrated into and around the facilities, without providing verifiable evidence.
