Israel killed more than 100 scientists and academics in Gaza News

The government media office in Gaza said – today, Wednesday – that the Israeli occupation army killed more than 100 scientists, academics, university professors and researchers during the ongoing war on the Strip for the eighth month in a row.

The office published a list of the names of these martyrs, including the president of the Islamic University in Gaza, Sufyan Tayeh, the professor of burn medicine and one of the most prominent surgeons in Gaza, Medhat Saidam, and the former Minister of Education, Osama Al-Muzaini.

The government media office said that targeting this distinguished group in Palestinian society confirms the Israeli occupation’s endeavor to completely eliminate scholars and researchers in the educational sector, noting that the Israeli bombing destroyed more than 103 universities and schools completely during the same period and 311 universities and schools partially.

He urged universities and educational sectors in all countries of the world to condemn the killings, which he said were within the framework of the crime of genocide, and held the Israeli occupation and the American administration fully responsible for what he described as a historical crime.

The information office also called on countries and organizations active in the field of education to condemn the killing of scholars and academics and to pressure the occupation to stop what it described as a war of extermination that targets this group in particular, and education in general.
