Israel intensifies daily raids in occupied West Bank | Israeli-Palestinian conflict News

At least four Palestinians, including three teenagers, were killed in 24 hours, while 60 people were arrested.

The Israeli army is intensifying its raids in the occupied West Bank, with almost daily incursions throughout the territory.

At least four Palestinians, including three teenagers, have been killed in such attacks in the past 24 hours, Tel Aviv Tribune’s Charles Stratford said from Ramallah on Wednesday evening.

Sixty Palestinians were arrested during this period, he said.

Among the four killed were a 16-year-old in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, two brothers in Tubas and one in Balata, in Nablus, our correspondent said.

Meanwhile, overnight in the northern town of Tulkarem, an improvised explosive device detonated as a convoy of armored vehicles passed by.

“We are receiving reports of a raid on the Tulkarem refugee camp… It is often described as a center of Palestinian armed resistance,” Stratford said.

Several Palestinian workers from Gaza were arrested overnight following an Israeli raid in the town of Faroun, near Tulkarem, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.

Sources in Tulkarem told Wafa that Israeli forces attacked the town’s Kamal Salama building and took the workers from their residential apartments.

Israeli forces also attacked other areas, including the Aida refugee camp, south of Bethlehem; the villages and towns of Silat al-Dhahr, al-Atara, Arana, al-Jalama, Faqoua, al-Arqa and Zububa in Jenin governorate, as well as the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus.

Settler attacks

Since October 7, the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli raids in the West Bank has reached 266, with more than 3,640 people arrested.

The West Bank has seen a surge in violence and arrests alongside Israel’s eight-week-old war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 16,248 Palestinians – including 7,112 children.

Israel claims to be targeting Hamas in Gaza, but the vast majority of victims are civilians. An escalation of violence is also taking place in the West Bank, although Hamas is not present in this part of the occupied territories.

At the same time, attacks by Israeli settlers are also increasing in the West Bank.

“Settler attacks, alongside these raids, mean that millions of Palestinians in the occupied territories face terrifying pressures every day,” Stratford said. “The UN says these attacks have doubled since October 7, with at least 308 attacks recorded up to about three days ago, and at least eight Palestinians killed in these settler attacks. »

The United States announced a decision Tuesday to impose visa restrictions on “extremist” Israeli settlers involved in undermining peace, security or stability in the occupied West Bank.

However, rights groups, Palestinians and some in the international community accuse Israel of not doing enough to end settler violence.
