Israel is reportedly on the verge of carrying out a major military operation in Rafah. The population is called to evacuate.
They are preparing for the worst. This Monday, tens of thousands of people began packing up in the town of Rafah, south of Gaza. Still at war with Hamas, the Jewish state is reportedly on the verge of leading a major military incursion into this city, where 1.4 million civilians have found refuge from Israeli air attacks.
“Today we are a people who only have God to help us. We have no shelter, no food, no water, none of that. The Israeli army and the international community promised us that Rafah would be protected and this is what is happening why we came to Rafah, but unfortunately they informed us to evacuate, otherwise we will face something that no one wants to face. laments Manhal Tartouri, displaced from Khan Younès.
Calls to evacuate were communicated through leaflets, text messages and phone calls in Arabic. The IDF assures in its press release that it has “expanded the humanitarian zone in al-Mawasi”about ten kilometers from Rafah where there are field hospitals, tents and food.
“We read the leaflet. We don’t know where to go. We were displaced from Gaza and now we don’t know where to go. They dropped leaflets and we don’t know where to go. We have children, my wife , my mother and the family and we all don’t know where to go” says Ziad Dada, displaced from Gaza.
Fearing a bloodbath among civilians, capitals and international organizations oppose this operation. American Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently asked the Jewish state and Benjamin Netanyahu not to intervene in this area. In vain.
