Mahmoud Abbas received Antony Blinken this Wednesday in Ramallah. The American Secretary of State wants the creation of a Palestinian state to take place with the support of Middle Eastern countries.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas received the US Secretary of State this Wednesday in Ramallah to discuss “administrative reforms” and “tangible measures” towards the creation of a Palestinian state after the end of the war in the Gaza Strip.
The day before in Tel Aviv, Antony Blinken stressed that a “path to a Palestinian state” would be done with the support of several Middle Eastern countries.
But these American ambitions face several obstacles, including the categorical refusal of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.
On the sidelines of this meeting, a peaceful demonstration against the visit of the head of American diplomacy ended in clashes with the police.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli troops continue their land and air offensive. On Tuesday evening, an IDF strike hit a four-story building in the town of Rafah, killing at least 14 people and injuring around 20 others.including women and children, according to local authorities controlled by Hamas.
