After the October 7 Hamas attack that left 1,200 people dead, Israel repeatedly promised to eradicate the group, launching a devastating counter-offensive against the Palestinians.

Nearly eight weeks since Israeli bombing of Gaza began, at least 15,000 Palestinians have been killed.

Gaza City is now in ruins, and almost half of the buildings in northern Gaza have been damaged. But is Israel about to overthrow Hamas? And if Hamas is destroyed, who could really fill the power vacuum?
