The organization’s spokesman says that the status of observer of Israel means that he cannot officially withdraw from the body.

Israel says he “will not participate” in the United Nations Human Rights Council (CDH), according to the traces of the United States, which announced its withdrawal earlier this week.

In response to Thursday’s announcement by the Israeli Foreign Affairs, the spokesperson for the CDH, Pascal Sim, said that Israel had a status as a state of observer within the rights organization and could therefore not withdraw from the council.

The Council based in Geneva is made up of 47 UN member states, which are elected by other UN members to serve four -year mandates on a rotating basis. The United States is currently not currently an elected member of the Council.

Thursday, the Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Saar accused the CDH of anti-Semitism and said that his country “joins the United States and will not participate in the CDH”.

Saar added that the decision “was taken in the light of the institutional bias in progress and relentless against Israel to the Council of Human Rights, which has been persistent since its creation in 2006”.

Earlier, Israel’s ambassador Danny Danon accused the body of “moral failure”.

Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, said that Israel’s decision was “extremely serious” and “shows pride and the lack of achievement of what they (Israel) have done” .

“They insist in the self-justice that they have nothing responsible, and they prove it to the whole international community,” she added.

The UNDC performs periodic examinations of human rights files in the UN Member States and is also responsible for the appointment of human rights experts to serve as special rapporteurs of the UN UN .

Israel participated in periodic examinations that UN members must submit to the CDH. For several years, however, he boycotted debates on the “human rights situation in Palestine and in other occupied Arab territories”.

The decision of Thursday by Israel is the last in a series of confrontations that she had with the UN.

In October, Israel prohibited the United Nations Rescue and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which caused a generalized international conviction.
