Israel destroys Jenin’s buildings in the West Bank after killing an elderly man | News from the occupied West Bank

Israel has destroyed several buildings in the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, a few hours after his forces killed a 73 -year -old man, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

An Israeli army spokesman said 23 buildings had been destroyed on Sunday in Jenin “to prevent the creation of terrorist infrastructure”. The army also said that they had killed 50 Palestinian fighters in the West Bank since mid-January.

The Arab correspondents of Tel Aviv Tribune declared that the explosions had exploded a residential block in the AD-D-Damj district of the camp.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the explosions were so powerful that they were heard through the city and in the surrounding cities.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the destruction of buildings by the military to Jenin, describing it as a “brutal scene”.

President Mahmoud Abbas asked for an urgent session of the United Nations Security Council to stop the destruction of whole residential blocks in the Jenin and Tulkarm camps.

In a separate incident in Arroub, in southern West Bank, the Israeli army killed a 27 -year -old man, named Mohammed Amjad Hadoush, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The Israeli army has launched a major offensive in the occupied West Bank last month, nicknamed “Iron Wall”, mainly focused on attacking the Palestinian armed groups in the Jenin region, just after starting a cease-fire with the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza on January 19.

Sunday explosions mark an escalation while Israel is increasingly committed without restrictions against Palestinian infrastructure.

“The sounds are horrible,” said Henna al-Haj Hassan, a resident of Jenin, in Tel Aviv Tribune by phone on the explosions.

Hassan said she and other Jenin residents have faced in progress attacks for two weeks. She added that a curfew was in place, with shops and other closed companies.

Jenin’s government hospital, Wisam Baker, told Wafa that some hospital sections had been damaged due to the explosions, but no victim has been reported.

Many families are now moved due to demolitions, said the news agency.

Ahmed Tobasi, another Jenin resident, said that Jenin camp houses “are no longer really habitable” due to the infrastructure to destroy Israel.

“The Israeli army does not need an excuse to destroy our homes and move,” Jenin’s resident said life in Tel Aviv Tribune.

“This is a very long ancient plan of the Israeli army, especially for camps (refugees), because they want to kill and kill the Palestinian case.”

He added: “It is therefore not a question of terrorism; These are normal residences, people who live – and when you talk about a single house, it is not really a family who lives there. In the Jenin camp, you find a house with three to four families. »»

Elderly killed

The explosions occurred shortly after a 73 -year -old man was killed by Israeli shots in Jenin’s refugee camp, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the last victim of the I, Israel, announced on Sunday.

“The Israeli army has set up several roadblocks and other control points through the occupied West Bank and at least 27 Palestinians were killed,” said Hamdah Salhut d’Tel Aviv Tribune.

“Many of them are civilians, including a two -year -old girl who was shot in his head while he was dining at home with his family, and a 73 -year -old man shot down by Israeli forces this morning. »»

Witnesses reported a large deployment of Israeli forces on Sunday morning in the cities of Tubas and Tammun, southeast of Jenin.

The army said early on Sunday that a “tactical group” had started its operations around Tammun and had discovered weapons.

He added that he extended the “fight against terrorism” operation to five villages.

He also distributed leaflets in Arabic saying that the operation was supposed to “eradicate armed criminals, Iran lackeys”.

The Israeli government accuses Iran, which supports armed groups across the Middle East, including Hamas in Gaza, of having tried to send weapons and money to the Palestinian groups armed in occupied West Bank.

The Jenin operation of Israel has also forcibly moved around 15,000 Palestinians.

Torme Socks Cimetry, Mosque

Also Sunday, Israeli settlers stormed a cemetery in the city of Silwan, south of the old town in East Jerusalem-East, under the protection of the Israeli army, according to Wafa.

Local sources cited by the Palestinian news agency said that the settlers had cut the fence that the city dwellers had placed around the cemetery and took control.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian points of sale reported that at night, a mosque in the village of Bedouin of Arab al-Mleihat, northwest of Jericho, was burnt down by Israeli colonists.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned attacks.

The violence of the Israeli colonists and soldiers against the Palestinians crossed the occupied West Bank since the Gaza War broke out in 2023.

The soldiers or the settlers have killed at least 882 Palestinians since the start of the war, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The colonies are illegal under international law but continue to develop through occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem with the full support of the Israeli government.
