The Israeli occupation forces continued to launch devastating air strikes on the Gaza Strip, while the resistance engaged in fierce ground battles with the occupation army in several areas in the besieged Strip.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the Israeli army fired about 50 artillery shells during the last hours on Beit Hanoun, amid continued aerial bombardment on northern Gaza since the early morning hours.
Earlier this December, the occupation army announced its complete control over Beit Hanoun, but the Israeli bombing of the area continued.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent added that the occupation forces dropped dozens of smoke and phosphorus bombs on Jabalia Al-Balad and the Al-Jarn area, in conjunction with their attempt to advance towards Jabalia Al-Balad, amid clashes with the resistance and heavy artillery shelling.
The artillery shelling targeted the eastern and western areas of the town of Jabalia, while Israeli air force fighters raided homes in the Jabalia al-Balad area, resulting in dozens of Palestinians being martyred and wounded, in addition to major material destruction.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society announced that an Israeli drone opened fire, killing a child while he was standing in front of the gate of the Society’s Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis.
For his part, the Director of Emergency at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Khalil Al-Dakran, told Al-Jazeera that the occupation army carries out field executions on a daily basis throughout the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that 200 Palestinians were martyred during the past 24 hours as a result of the continuous Israeli bombing and the occupation’s ground operations in several areas within the Strip.
Fierce battles
On the other hand, fierce clashes broke out between the Israeli army and Palestinian resistance factions in several areas throughout the Gaza Strip, while Israeli tanks continued their ground incursion attempts, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.
Clashes broke out in the Al-Tuffah and Al-Daraj neighborhoods, east of Gaza City, after the occupation army attempted to advance deeper into the two neighborhoods. Israeli forces are stationed on the eastern outskirts of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, while they are located near the western outskirts of the Al-Daraj neighborhood.
Israeli tanks dropped heavy smoke bombs in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, while helicopters were seen flying over the area of the clash.
On the other hand, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the killing and wounding of a number of Israeli soldiers in the northern and central Gaza Strip.
The Brigades said, in separate statements on the Telegram platform, that “its members were able to target a special Israeli force consisting of 10 soldiers, who barricaded themselves inside a building in the Juhr al-Dik area in the central Gaza Strip,” and explained that the Israeli soldiers were killed or wounded.
The Brigades also announced that their fighters were able to snipe 3 Israeli soldiers, one of whom was a major, in the Al-Qassaib neighborhood in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip. Al-Qassam confirmed the killing of 6 soldiers and the injury of others.
Earlier on Sunday, Al-Qassam said that its fighters targeted 3 Israeli Merkava tanks in the Jabalia area in the northern Gaza Strip.
During the last 24 hours until Sunday afternoon, the Israeli army announced the killing of 14 officers and soldiers, and the wounding of 44 others.
This brings the total number of Israeli army deaths – announced – since Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and the war on Gaza to 486 soldiers and officers, including 159 killed since the start of the ground operation.
Serious violations
In humanitarian developments, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory said that the Israeli army continues to invade schools where tens of thousands of displaced people throughout the Gaza Strip have taken shelters.
He stressed that Israeli forces are committing serious violations in schools for displaced people, including physical liquidations, arrests, abuse, and intimidation of civilians.
The Observatory added that it documented today’s raid by Israeli forces into a school in Jabalia, and the arrest of 15-year-old males after forcing them to strip naked and remain in their underwear.
He stressed that the Israeli forces turned shelter centers into permissible targets since the first days of their war in the Gaza Strip, noting that the initial information he collected confirmed that the attacks were unjustified and targeted defenseless civilians.
Several pictures were published proving that Israeli forces arrested civilians from shelter centers in the Gaza Strip, stripped them of their clothes, and piled them inhumanely into trucks, then took them to unknown places.
Risk of starvation
For its part, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) warned that the risk of death from starvation has become real in the Gaza Strip.
The UN organization added that Gaza’s children and families are now facing violence from the air and deprivation of land, amid expectations that the worst is yet to come.
UNICEF also called for rapid, safe and unhindered access of humanitarian aid to all children and families in need in Gaza.
The displaced people in the Gaza Strip suffer from a severe shortage of water, food, medicine, and all basic life necessities.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Strip had risen to 20,424 martyrs and 54,36 wounded since October 7.
