An Israeli military attack on the largest hospital in the south of Gaza killed two people, injured several and launched a large fire, according to the Enclave Ministry of Health.
The attack on Sunday evening hit the surgical building of Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis, the ministry reported. The attack occurred only a few days after the installation was overwhelmed by the dead and the wounded, while Israel resumed his war in Gaza with a wave of air raids last week.
Among the people killed on Sunday, there was a 16 -year -old boy who had undergone surgery two days earlier. Ismail Barhoum was also killed, a member of the Hamas political bureau who received medical treatment at the hospital, Hamas said in a statement.
The army of Israel confirmed the attack, declaring that it had struck a member of Hamas. Israeli officials have repeatedly accused civilian victims to the armed Palestinian group which governs Gaza, arguing that it deliberately operates in densely populated areas.
Like other medical establishments in Gaza, the Nasser hospital has undergone damage caused by Israeli raids and air attacks throughout the conflict.
According to Palestinian health officials, Israeli forces have killed more than 600 people since their resumption of the assault, including dozens in the past 24 hours, according to Palestinian health officials.
On Sunday, the official death toll in Gaza since the start of the war has exceeded 50,000, according to the Ministry of Health. However, many experts believe that this figure is probably far under the number of real number.
