Iranian general to Al Jazeera Net: The Gaza war will remove Netanyahu and undermine Biden’s chances | Policy

Tehran- The former Iranian Assistant Minister of Defense and the first commander of the Revolutionary Guard Navy, General Hossein Alaei, said that the Gaza battle will destroy Benjamin Netanyahu’s political career, and will also eliminate the Israeli dream of controlling all of Palestine.

In an exclusive interview with Tel Aviv Tribune Net, Alaei added that the aggression launched by Israel against Gaza since the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7 will undermine the chances of US President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential elections, and will lead to the marginalization of the India-Europe road project via… The Middle East.

Retired Major General Hossein Alaei, who previously headed the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Guards, is considered one of Iran’s leading experts in military and strategic affairs.

In this dialogue, he talked about the possibilities of the expansion of the Gaza battle, the reasons that prevent Washington and Tehran from confrontation at the present time, and the repercussions of the battle on the Israeli and Palestinian sides and the regional and international arenas.

  • How do you read the mobilization of American naval fleets in the Eastern Mediterranean, and what is its impact on the course of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza?

Since the first day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the American side has spared no effort except to provide support to the Israeli criminal machine. The United States has thrown all its weight to stand by Israel on the one hand, and to prevent the axis of resistance from providing support to the Palestinian side on the other hand. We see that Washington sending its military fleets and aircraft carriers to the Mediterranean and the Gulf comes in this context.

We believe that the behavior of the American side aims to reassure the Zionist entity that the war will not expand, so that it can continue its bombing of the Gaza Strip and annihilate the Palestinians in cold blood. However, we see that the American mobilization has failed to repel the support of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Yemeni Ansar Allah group, “the Houthis,” and the Iraqi movements for the Palestinian resistance. .

Returning to historical events, we find that the United States of America had previously intensified the presence of its naval fleets in territorial waters during the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988), and had fought the war against the Islamic Republic alongside the regime of Saddam Hussein, and in this era we do not forget that part of the American forces Its warships have been staying at its bases in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, and the Emirates for years.

What must be said here is that none of the regional countries wants to increase tension in the Middle East, and Tehran has always sought with wisdom, skill, and determination to thwart American and Israeli conspiracies aimed at creating conflicts in the region.

  • What is your interpretation of the Houthi group’s launching of missile salvos towards the occupied Palestinian territories and its intention to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait to Israeli ships?

Although most of the Yemeni missiles and drones are intercepted over the Red Sea on their way to the Israeli entity, the position of the Houthi group on the conflict and Sanaa’s declaration that it is in a state of war with the Israeli occupation constituted a qualitative shift in providing moral support to the owners of the land and standing by the truth. We regret the positioning of some Arab and Islamic countries on the enemy’s front, providing support and harnessing their air defenses to intercept Yemeni missiles.

The Houthi group was also able to confuse Israeli navigation in the Red Sea in support of the Palestinian side, by arresting an Israeli commercial ship and threatening to target and arrest all Israeli ships in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

  • What are the possibilities of the ongoing aggression against Gaza expanding and turning it into a regional war in which Tehran may be a party?

The Islamic Republic is working intelligently to avoid falling into the Israeli trap that aims to create a war between Tehran and Washington. Benjamin Netanyahu has tried diligently, since the first day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, to lure Iran into war and pit it against the United States, but he has collided with the vigilance of the Islamic Republic and has failed miserably. He succeeded in achieving this goal.

There is no doubt that the American side knows very well that the war is a debate, and that it will be exposed to great risks in asymmetric wars, especially with Iran. Therefore, he will not accept the risk of war with it on the eve of his presidential elections scheduled for next year.

  • How do you evaluate the course of the aggression on Gaza and which two parties were able to achieve their goals?

It seems that the Zionist occupation has made its decision to continue the genocide in Gaza and displace its people, but it has achieved nothing but revealing the nature of its entity and its tendency to kill innocent people, especially children and women, and presented its entity as a war criminal, and despite its operations entering its third month in Gaza, it has failed miserably. He was instrumental in liberating his captives.

We believe that the stubbornness of the occupation leaders in continuing the retaliatory bombing of Gaza will not save them from the scandal of the success of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, which was launched by the Palestinian resistance on the morning of last October 7, and demonstrated the fragility of the Zionist entity and the inability of its security services to predict it.

In the end, the occupation entity and its military machine will not be able to wash away the shame that befell it that day, and the scorched earth policy it has followed for more than two months will not save it from the Gaza trap.

The main goal of the occupying entity at the current stage is to exterminate the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip, because Tel Aviv considers all its segments to be against the occupation, and therefore seeks to displace them by force.

The Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip have shown so far that they are determined to thwart the Israeli plans aimed at displacing and displacing them, and therefore we see that they are valiant in their resistance, and have not left their homes despite the continuous insane bombing from which even hospitals have not been spared.

  • How do you read the Western and Islamic alignments with both sides of the Gaza battle?

Following the launch of Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood,” some Western countries, led by the United States, along with Germany and Britain, took the initiative to provide various types of political and military support to the Israeli side to commit genocide in Gaza, in an indication of these countries’ indifference to human rights and international conventions, and we see their use of veto power. (Veto) against the resolutions presented for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The American, British and German weapons used in the bombing of Gaza caused a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe in the besieged Strip, as the extent of the destruction caused to the infrastructure in Gaza exceeded what was caused by World War II in all German cities, and the intensity of the explosions in Gaza exceeded the two American nuclear bombs that were dropped. On Japan.

These Western countries were not content with providing armed support to the Zionist entity, as they contributed to the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip to starve the Palestinian people and deprive them of the most basic human rights, including treatment. Rather, these countries appeared as if they were in a confrontation with the defenseless Palestinian people.

On the other hand, unfortunately, we did not see appropriate Arab and Islamic support for the Palestinian side. Indeed, some Arab countries are contributing to the siege of the Gaza Strip, others are hosting the leaders of the occupying entity, and some other capitals have not canceled normalization agreements with the occupier.

The Islamic Republic considers it its duty to provide support to the Palestinian people. In addition to its diplomatic efforts to stop the war on Gaza, the Iranian Red Crescent Society has sent tens of tons of food and medical aid to the Palestinian people, but this aid has not yet entered the Gaza Strip.

We do not see any tangible movement by the Arab and Islamic countries to support Gaza, except for the participation of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Houthi group, and some Iraqi movements, but these movements are facing pressure from the governments of these countries.

  • What are the repercussions of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle on both sides and the regional and international situations?

Perhaps the first repercussions of this war are the removal of Benjamin Netanyahu from the political arena, the reverse migration of Jews from the occupied Palestinian territories, and the freezing of agreements to normalize Arab relations with the Zionist entity.

We believe that the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operations have brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront of global developments, and we expect that many of Israel’s allies will go along with the principle of the two-state solution and pressure Tel Aviv to accept it, which means eliminating the Israeli dream aimed at controlling all of Palestine.

Unfortunately, the suffering of the Palestinian people will increase after the end of the ongoing battle, due to the loss of many families of their loved ones as a result of the bombing and destruction that befell the Gaza Strip.

The repercussions of this battle may reflect negatively on the political future of US President Joe Biden in the presidential elections next year, due to his absolute support for the Zionist entity in its killing of children and women. It will also marginalize the India-Gulf-Europe road project through the Arab countries and the Israeli entity.
