A new version of a hypersonic ballistic missile, the Fattah II, was presented to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s highest authority, said Sunday that Israel’s “defeat” in its war against Hamas in Gaza was “a fact” and linked to “the inability to “military” of Western countries to help him defeat the Palestinian movement.
The supreme leader spoke during a visit to the air force development center of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country’s ideological army, during which a new version of a hypersonic ballistic missile was unveiled , the Fattah II.
“The defeat of the Zionist regime in Gaza is a fact. Penetrating hospitals and homes does not represent a victory because victory means the defeat of the other side, which it has not managed to do until now. now and will not succeed in the future,” the Ayatollah said in a speech.
“This incapacity is also that of the United States and Western countries“, he added.
Iran welcomed the deadly attacks launched by the Palestinian Islamist movement on October 7 in Israel, while claiming not to be involved in them.
According to Ali Khamenei, “Zionists consider themselves a superior race and consider the rest of humanity an inferior race. This is why they killed thousands of children without any remorse.”
He also judged that it was “not acceptable” that “certain Muslim countries seem to condemn the crimes of the Zionist regime in assemblies” without taking action.
“Muslim countries should sever political relations with the Zionist regime, at least for a while“, he said, also calling for suspending “supplies of energy and products” to Israel.
Several Arab countries, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco, have established official ties with Israel, Tehran’s sworn enemy.
During his visit, Ayatollah Khamenei examined the fleet of missiles and drones, one of which is called Gaza.
He was presented with the Fattah II, a new version of a hypersonic missile unveiled in June with a range of 1,400 km and a speed of between 13 to 15 times the speed of sound, according to the Irna agency. Also shown on Sunday were improved versions of the 9-Dey anti-missile system and the Shahed 147 drone.
The development of Iran’s military arsenal is causing concern among many countries, first and foremost the United States and Israel, the latter fearing that its territory could be reached by Iranian weapons.
