Iran’s ambassador to Syria, Hussein Akbari, said that his country received an American message 10 days ago through a Gulf country, offering a settlement regarding the entire region.
Akbari explained that a Gulf country delivered a message to Tehran from Washington, and sent a high-ranking delegation to Tehran to discuss the details of the message, which included an American offer that begins with not expanding the circle of war as a basis for resolving the region’s crises.
The Iranian ambassador to Syria said, “Our response to the American offer was that Tehran’s allies have the right to decide their fate and the fate of their people, and we stressed that the political decision of our allies is independent and we do not decide for them.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani had warned earlier on Monday that the war in the region would expand if Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip did not stop.
Kanaani said that Israel did not achieve any of the goals of its war on Gaza, and that the Palestinian resistance would be able to manage the Strip.
He also pointed out that Israel has suffered irreparable strategic losses in Gaza, and is unable to manage the war.
He said, “The crimes of the past three months have proven that this entity does not abide by any moral, humanitarian, or international principles and laws. It has created an international scandal for itself and has left no pretext or excuse for human rights defenders.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also stressed that many cases of insecurity in the Middle East region “are due to the illegal presence of American forces, their interference in the affairs of countries in the region, and their support for the Zionist entity.”
