Iran is in nuclear talks with European Troika news

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said next Friday will hold nuclear talks in Istanbul with the three British, France and Germany countries, after these countries warned that the failure to resume negotiations will lead to the re -imposition of international sanctions on Tehran.

“The meeting with Britain, France and Germany will be at the level of foreign ministers,” official Iranian media quoted Ismail Baqi, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, as saying.

The talks to be held a few days after the Troika foreign ministers and the European Union’s foreign policy official, Kaya Kayas, held their first phone call to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji since the Israeli -American attack on Iranian nuclear facilities last month.

European Troika, along with China and Russia, forms the remaining parties in the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran, from which the United States withdrew in 2018 and was brought down by sanctions on Tehran in exchange for imposing restrictions on its nuclear program.

Imposition

The European Group announced that it would re -impose United Nations sanctions on Tehran through the so -called mechanism of re -imposing sanctions by the end of August, if the nuclear talks that were ongoing between Iran and the United States before the Israeli -Iranian air war were not resumed or if no concrete results are achieved.

Araqji said a few days ago, “If the European Union and European Troika want to have a role, they must act with responsibility and give up the threat and pressure policies that are outdated” including the policy of re -imposing sanctions that “has no moral or legal basis at all.”

Under the provisions of the United Nations resolution approved the 2015 nuclear agreement, European Troika can re -impose international sanctions on Tehran by October 18, 2025.

Before the Israeli -Iranian war, Tehran and Washington held 5 rounds of nuclear talks by Omani, but they faced major obstacles such as enriching uranium in Iran, which Western powers seek to reduce zero to reduce any danger to armament.

Tehran repeatedly asserts that its nuclear program is dedicated to civil purposes only.
