Hamas leader Tehran was killed in an airstrike that hit his residence in Tehran, Hamas said Wednesday. He was visiting Iran to attend the inauguration of Iran’s new president.

Israel had vowed to kill Haniyeh and other Hamas leaders following the Islamist group’s October 7 attack that killed 1,200 people.
