Iran – Saturday – announced that its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency will not be as before, expressing its dissatisfaction with the “silence” of this body after Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

“It is unreasonable for these peaceful sites to be attacked and the agency is silent,” Kazem Gharib Apadi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister and in charge of the nuclear file, said in a televised statement.

For its part, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced yesterday evening Saturday that it will hold an emergency meeting for the agency’s governors on Monday to discuss Israel’s attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said that 4 vital buildings at the Asfahan nuclear site in Iran were damaged by yesterday’s attack, including an uranium processing facility and another to manufacture nuclear fuel sheets.

In a previous statement, the Atomic Energy Agency reported that it is in contact with the Iranian nuclear security authorities to obtain information about the condition of the nuclear facilities concerned and evaluate any wider effects that may result in safety and nuclear security.

The agency reminded that any armed attack and any threat against nuclear facilities designated for peaceful purposes represents a violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter, International Law and the Agency’s statute.
