International newspapers covered the situation inside the Gaza Strip during the Eid al-Adha period, and the suffering of a large segment of the population from hunger and an acute shortage of food and basic resources. The newspaper also described the October 7 attack as the worst intelligence disaster in the history of Israel.
The American New York Times described the conditions of the population in the Gaza Strip during Eid al-Adha as bleak, and said that many in the Strip are suffering from hunger due to the war, and that almost all of the residents of the Strip have become needy.
Citizen Zeina Kammouni told the newspaper that the Eid atmosphere was completely absent, noting that she had not eaten meat for 5 months.
The Financial Times newspaper pointed out that Israeli forces are active in parts of Rafah and the central Gaza Strip, but the general impression is that there is a halting and aimless attack, with no specific duration.
The Financial Times added that the number of dead Israeli soldiers who fell recently added a state of darkness to the Israeli public mood, and undermined the joy that prevailed a week ago after the recovery of 4 of the prisoners.
The British newspaper The Times published an article entitled “The October 7 attack was the worst intelligence disaster in the history of Israel,” in which it indicated that many agents in Gaza are searching smartphones and computers to determine the whereabouts of the leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the prisoners.
But after 8 months of war, the results of this operation were “weak” at best, according to the newspaper, which added that although the documents collected during the operation provided intelligence analysts with a wealth of information, it remains less useful when it comes to understanding what happened after the 7th. October.
An illogical British position
According to an article published by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes decisions too late, adding that this approach has served him politically throughout his life, but this is not in the interest of defending Israeli strategic interests.

US Navy Secretary Carlos Tintoro testified last month before the US Congress, in which he said that the fleet’s defenses against Houthi attacks with missiles and drones cost his country about a billion dollars.
