International newspapers and websites focused their coverage of the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and the closing of bank accounts of humanitarian organizations operating in the Strip.
The head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza, Georgios Petropoulos, told The Washington Post that the Israeli military’s so-called humanitarian zone system is completely dead, and they can no longer provide aid there.
Petropoulos added that the so-called humanitarian zones were not fully protected from Israeli attacks, were not equipped to increase the flow of aid, and their size and shape were constantly changing.
In the same context, the Wall Street Journal quoted humanitarian organizations in Europe and the United States working to combat the hunger crisis in Gaza, saying that their bank accounts had been closed and their transactions frozen without knowing the reason since the attack on October 7.
On another note, sources revealed to the Jerusalem Post that the Israeli General Security Service (Shabak) had issued advance warnings to the Israeli army and police forces, on the 15th of this month, regarding the attack launched by dozens of settlers on the village of Jit in the West Bank.
She added, “The Israeli forces followed a very negative strategy and did not move in time to prevent the settlers’ attack.”
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper wrote that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite all the warnings, always hides behind the phrase “I did not see and I did not hear.”
The newspaper continues in its article that “it is no coincidence that Netanyahu is trying to reject any possibility of establishing a government commission of inquiry to look into the circumstances of Israel’s colossal failure on October 7.”
“The war warning that Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar gave Netanyahu in July 2023 was not a warning of an attack or escalation, or even of an intifada, but of a real war against Israel,” she said.
