International newspapers and websites continue to shed light on the developments of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, especially on the ground, as well as its political repercussions on the regional and international scene.

The New York Times reviewed the challenges faced by the Israeli forces penetrating the Strip, as the latter found booklets for fighters from the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” – showing the weaknesses of Israeli “Merkava” tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The newspaper also indicated that Hamas fighters were provided with instructions regarding the type of warheads that should be used against Israeli armored vehicles.

In turn, The Guardian covered a new term in Israel’s war on Gaza, which is “the annihilation of homes.” The newspaper quoted the United Nations rapporteur on the right to housing as believing that, according to the facts received from Israel, what is happening in Gaza was not merely eliminating Hamas, but rather making Gaza Uninhabitable.

The UN rapporteur points out the necessity of including the destruction of homes and civilian structures on the list of crimes against humanity.

As for the Israeli “Haaretz”, it said that “the army’s operations in the south of the Gaza Strip do not appear to differ from those it carried out in the north,” despite what it called American warnings about taking measures to reduce losses among Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

The newspaper indicated that Israeli officials did not come away with the impression that their American counterparts were close to issuing a final ultimatum to Tel Aviv in this regard.

In a related context, the correspondent of the French newspaper Le Monde in Israel discussed the system of dividing the Gaza Strip announced by the occupation army in order to guide the Palestinians during military operations via the Internet.

Le Monde’s correspondent pointed out that the civilians of Gaza were unable to understand this division, and that the vast majority of the citizens of the Strip cannot access the Internet at all.

The “Responsible State Graft” magazine reported that US President Joe Biden’s “strong” allies in the Senate have sounded the alarm about Israel’s use of American weapons in Gaza.

They sent an open letter to Biden in which they stressed the need to take steps to increase control over American weapons provided to Israel, in order to reduce the harm caused to civilians.

As for the Washington Post, it said that more than 500 employees of 142 American Jewish organizations signed a letter asking President Biden to work towards a ceasefire and the return of detainees in Gaza.

The newspaper pointed out that dozens of signatories to the letter did not mention their names because their position is not consistent with the position of the organizations in which they work or the entities that fund them.
