International newspapers: Evidence of Israel’s war crimes fills Gaza and its ethnic cleansing continues in the north news

As part of their follow-up of the situation in the Gaza Strip, southern Lebanon and the region, international newspapers reported on increasing evidence of Israel committing war crimes in the Strip and the continued policy of ethnic cleansing in its north.

In an article published by Haaretz newspaper, it was pointed out that the first days of the war on Gaza clearly showed that Israel would not abide by the restrictions of international law, confirming that Israel had been stripped of humanity in its campaign against the Gaza Strip.

The article added that Gaza has become full of evidence of war crimes committed against the civilian population, ranging from forced displacement and indiscriminate bombing to a siege and systematic starvation, which increases the suffering of the population day after day.

In turn, The Guardian newspaper noted that what it described as “Israel’s campaign against northern Gaza” faced global condemnation and continued despite international protests, stressing that Israel is pursuing a clearly defined policy of ethnic cleansing, which includes killing civilians and intimidating them to force them to flee their lands.

The newspaper pointed out that this policy comes in parallel with discussions and seminars inside Israel about the resettlement of the Gaza Strip, which reinforces fears of widespread displacement that may be part of long-term strategic plans.

In a related context, the Washington Post focused in a report on the suffering of Palestinian families in Gaza who were separated by the war, as it recounted painful stories of families whose members were dispersed between the north and south of the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli escalation hindered their efforts to meet again.

The report stated that the accelerating events raise increasing fears among the besieged residents of Gaza, as they fear that the permanent presence of Israeli forces will lead to the imposition of a new reality that will perpetuate the geographical division and separate families forever.

New stage

As for the Financial Times, it touched on the repercussions of the recent Israeli attacks on Iran with American support, considering that these developments represent a new phase in the conflict in the Middle East.

The newspaper explained, citing analysts and former officials, that the psychological barrier that prevented Israel from launching an attack opens the way for additional attacks in the future.

One of the speakers confirmed to the newspaper that the implicit support from the United States contributed to strengthening Israel’s position and making it more willing to expand the scope of its operations in the region, which threatens to destabilize regional stability.

In a report published by the Jerusalem Post newspaper, light was highlighted on providing Israel with the American THAAD missile defense system, which military experts considered an important step that contributed to strengthening Israel’s confidence in launching direct attacks on Iran.

The report indicated that the deployment of this system allows Israel to take offensive steps against Iranian nuclear facilities, which some researchers see as an indication of American confidence that Israel will commit to working within military objectives only, in line with American interests.

The report also quoted researchers warning that the deployment of the THAAD system may lead to a greater escalation in regional tensions, stressing that Israel has become more willing to resort to military options thanks to American support, despite the risks that may ensue.
