International newspapers dealt with various aspects of the conflict in Gaza, focusing on mediation efforts for the ceasefire, the tragedy of the victims, and the internationally varying political positions.
The New York Times highlighted the intermediaries ’endeavor to reach the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of the remaining prisoners, amid the threats of Israeli units to launch a sweeping attack on the Strip.
But the newspaper says that Israel, the United States, and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) sent conflicting messages in recent days about the progress made in the truce talks that would release the prisoners, even at a time when President Donald Trump seemed to intensify pressure to end the war.
In a complementary analysis of the political situation, he saw an opinion article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that Trump is aware of the weaknesses of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and he would use it against him.
The article continued that US officials realize that Netanyahu is vulnerable to political extortion, as it is constantly appearing in a minority in opinion polls, and he has no support from world leaders.
The Americans also realize the existence of more flexible political alternatives in Israel, and they are likely to enhance them.
In a human consumption, the British Guardian newspaper took care of the story of Yaqin Hammad, the youngest influencing social media in Gaza, who is 11 years old, and it is among the children who were martyred in Israeli raids last Friday night.
The newspaper says that Yaqin was through the communication sites providing advice to survive in the war areas, trying to delight other children, and find a reason for smiling, but like dozens of palace, she died of Israeli attacks during the last year.
In an attempt to move the global conscience, the French newspaper Liberation published an article written by a group of artists for Palestine, in which it called on the world of cinema to move against “the worst thing in our contemporary history, which is what is happening in Gaza.”
The group enumerated many forms of resistance that artists and citizens must follow to stop the war in Gaza, after the deepening of the crisis in the Strip, and Israel’s continued war and the failure of the international community and governments to stop this in their view, saying that Gaza is a reflection of the next world and it is our conscience and our morals.
In a different context, focusing on the American internal situation, the American Bright Bart website published the results of opinion polls conducted by a correspondent institution, which showed for the first time in 29 years that 50% of the United States population believed that America is on the right track, compared to 45% who say it is on the wrong path.
The report comments that the result is not surprising, given the crises that America experienced since 2006, but Trump’s return in 2024 changed everything, “he is governing his control, and carried out without fear the agenda that was elected to implement it, and he is optimistic about the future of America,” according to the report.
