The Israeli occupation army bombed several areas in the Gaza Strip, killing people and injuring others, blowing up many residential buildings and besieging centers to shelter displaced persons in the Jabalia camp. It also announced the continuation of its ground military operations in the besieged Strip.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that two Palestinians were killed as a result of an Israeli artillery shelling that targeted homes in the Al-Saftawi area, northwest of Gaza City.
He also reported that successive explosions shook Gaza City and its north, coinciding with the overflight of Israeli warplanes.
The correspondent said that an intense Israeli artillery shelling targeted northwest of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
In the northern Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent confirmed that Israeli forces are still besieging tens of thousands of Palestinians in their homes and preventing food, water and medicine from reaching them for 17 days.
The Israeli army also continues to blow up homes west of the Jabalia refugee camp and in several areas north of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces destroyed all homes and infrastructure in the “Block 2” area of the Jabalia camp, northern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian families were trapped in Jabalia camp as a result of the continuous bombing to evacuate them, repeatedly calling for help.
Siege of schools housing displaced people
Also in the northern Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that the occupation is besieging the schools of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which shelter displaced persons in the vicinity of Birkat Abu Rashid in Jabalia camp.
The reporter added that occupation artillery was bombing the vicinity of the agency’s shelter centers in the same place.
Earlier today, UNRWA announced that Israel rejected an urgent request submitted by the agency to evacuate those trapped under the rubble, as a result of the genocide being committed in the northern Gaza Strip.
This came in statements made by Enas Hamdan, UNRWA’s media officer, at a time when famine is worsening in the northern Gaza Strip due to the occupation’s genocide and the policy of ethnic cleansing to which the Palestinians are subjected there.
Resistance operations
Yesterday evening, Sunday, the Israeli occupation army announced the killing of the commander of the 401st Brigade, Colonel Ihsan Daqsa, and the serious wounding of another officer in battles in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Army Radio said that Colonel Daqsa was accompanied by 3 other officers in two tanks inside Jabalia in the battle zone, and added that he and the officers left the tanks 20 meters away, and while they were moving, an explosive device was detonated on them.
For its part, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced the sniping of two Israeli soldiers in the Jabalia camp, and the control of a drone during an intelligence mission in the center of the camp.
Al-Qassam broadcast images that it said were of the destruction of a Merkava tank with a high-explosive device east of the Jabalia camp last Friday.
The Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – also said that they bombed the occupation soldiers east of Jabalia and in the Netzarim axis with mortar shells.
Tel Aviv Tribune obtained pictures of the Al-Qassam Brigades showing violent clashes with the occupation army within a compound ambush west of the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Brigades announced the destruction of an Israeli “Tiger” tanker with a “Shawaz” device near the Khazindar station northwest of Gaza City, and in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, Al-Qassam announced the sniping of two Israeli soldiers, and the targeting of an occupation military bulldozer with a “Yassin 105” missile. It also targeted two Israeli troop carriers yesterday evening, killing and wounding their crews.
Statement by the occupation army
The Israeli occupation army announced that it will continue its ground military operations in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.
He also said in a statement that his fighter jets targeted a group of Hamas members working in the field of engineering who “posed a threat” to the Israeli forces in the central Gaza Strip, as he put it.
The occupation army said that the forces of the 162nd Division destroyed infrastructure and tunnel openings in the Jabalia area, and killed dozens of what it called “saboteurs” in reference to the Palestinian resistance members who are defending their land and people, who are subjected to a war of extermination.
